EDEN PRAIRIE (GaeaTimes.com)- Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has validated on Wednesday that he would be playing in the National Football League for one more season which would mark his 20th NFL season. The highly-acclaimed player has signed on with the Minnesota Vikings once again, finally bringing to an end widespread speculation about whether he would announce his retirement this summer. One of the prime reasons which seems to have contributed to the Minnesota Vikings quarterback’s decision to play for yet another season is the defeat that his team suffered by the Super Bowl winning team New Orleans Saints in the play-offs last season.
The 40-year-old noted NFL player told reporters at a news conference at the training camp of the team in Minnesota that he would just love his team to win a Super Bowl title while adding that his decision to continue with his NFL career was mainly because he felt that he owed the organization one more try to realize their dream of winning the Super Bowl. At the same time, in the press conference, Brett Favre also expressed hopes to play on Sunday when the Minnesota Vikings take on San Francisco 49ers at an exhibition match.
Brett Favre, who holds the record of being the oldest starting quarterback in the history of NFL play-offs, led the Minnesota Vikings to a 12-4 record last year but the stunning season came to grinding halt in the NFC title game in New Orleans following the defeat of his team after the quarterback threw an interception late in the regulation.
