Christopher ‘Cito’ Culver Goes To New York Yankees

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- On Monday night’s The New York Yankees used their first round draft pick to get the Irondequoit High School shortstop Christopher “Cito” Culver to the team. Christopher ‘Cito’ Culver was the last of the first round draft pick and the 32 overall. The move of the New York Yankees has surprised many as many people thought that Christopher ‘Cito’ Culver would get a team on the sixth or the eighth draft pick of the Major League Baseball 2010.
Though Christopher ‘Cito’ Culver had managed a position in Baseball America’s top-100 prospective list, nobody had expected him to become the 32 overall draft pick. Reports claim that during many mock drafts the player was seen going to the sixth-to-eighth round area. However, after the draft pick many analysts have speculated that the New York Yankee management is thinking of a replacement for its shortstop Derek Jeter.
Christopher ‘Cito’ Culver who is listed at 6 feet, 172 pounds, was named the most valuable player of his team for the last three seasons and had also been an Under Armour All American. As for his personal career record, Christopher ‘Cito’ Culver has batted .561 (37-for-66) with 38 RBI and 20 walks in 22 games. He has the credit of 10 doubles, five triples and nine home runs reportedly. The player had also led his team to lead the Monroe County Division title.
On Monday, Damon Oppenheimer the vice President of the New York Yankees amateur Scouting said to media sources that the club has been able to draft a “very athletic kid who can play a good shortstop”. Damon Oppenheimer also added that Christopher ‘Cito’ Culver is a player that the team is happy to have and that his selection was an easy decision on the part of the New York Yankees.
